Optoma PK-101 is Groundbreaking in the field of Projectors! The picture may look good now, but what about 3 years from now? Picture quality is directly impacted the durability of a projector. If the picture goes bad, the projector will either need to be repaired or replaced, and that's expensive. DLP projectors are famous for their long lasting picture quality not only because they offer a pristine, digital image, but becaise they are also virtually immune to a nasty phenomenon known as Color decay. Color decay (image degradation) can affect many LCD projectors. When Color decay takes hold, the image on the screen produced by an LCD projector may have a yellow or green tint to it, you may have seen this before. When it happens, you have to either replace the LCD panels or the projector to return to the picture you paid for. Color decay not only looks yellow or green on the screen, it can make text harder to read. DLP projectors have a technological advantage over LCD projectors in terms of retaining color saturation and guarding against Color Decay or image degradation during extended periods of usage. Why? Because DLP technology simply reflects the light of the projector, digitally onto the screen to produce a stunning picture that lasts, even after years of active use. It does a decent job, but not all, we bought some of these works (for use with the iPhone and iTouch). I'd probably give this projector 3 1 / 2 stars, but this was not an option. We have not used this very long, but those who used it were very impressed (it's better than what we expected). E 'for everyone? Not really. The picture quality is good, but not close to the main-beam headlamps that do not cost much more than that do not. I think most people will want it because it looks cool, but I would bet that most people do not use it very often, once the novelty wears off. The image is decent when viewed in a dark room. The lightest of the room, the image is faint. Not much light, before the image is faint and can only be used if you are close enough to the surface on which you project the image. Even in dark rooms, the image is on the dark side (the whites have a bluish tint). There is a speaker, but is basically useless, so plan on connecting it to a sort of external speaker, I realize that the review seems a little "negative and do not want you to believe that we are not satisfied with them. As I said we were very happy with what they can do. The boys not to use this medium to show high-definition video to customers, but will be a lot of use. We have a number of people who travel a lot for education . They usually have to pack around a portable DVD player, projector, external speakers and all necessary cables to connect everything together. They are usually in smaller rooms in small groups. To this end, the projector will to work very well. Here is what we put together. Instead of packing all the things mentioned above, now our officers carry their iPhone or iTouch, Optoma Pico Projector, and a set of mini speakers from a company called Grandmax ( Grandmax.com). The speakers are powered by the iPhone with electricity and is not much bigger than the projector (the sound is the amount of very good) you are able to display videos, pictures and PowerPoint presentations (you will need a program to the PowerPoint presentation to make To convert a video so) and not a ton of equipment to make the grab. It will be interesting to see where this technology goes into the future. But as for now, makes this projector a decent job as long as you live with the defects. It is not perfect and a lot of people are not satisfied with the quality, but it has the potential to be a very valuable tool if you have special needs, to meet this need, this projector. Lots of fun! I've had this now for about a week. I saw three movies about them, play Gears of War 2, and so on Cotto / Pavlik fight against pay-per-view on this issue. We watched boxing matches on my brother's apartment, we had Pico on a tripod, with a 2.1 Logitech system. We could easily watch the fights on a 122-inch picture on the wall! In fact, we were gone, but do not remember for reasons of space, the show was about 90% black, and the walls are light brown and not white. We were very impressed! What struck me is that this thing for VGA stuff is designed. Yes, it was Gears of War 2 playable, but it looked ... like crap. This happens when you have something that intends to play this 10 801 or 1080p and see it try to play through VGA. It will look bad. I knew before I bought the Pico. My main use for this is watch DVDs and play out Nintendo Wii. So if you expect high definition of this thing, not to buy it. Buy only when you see things on the street, and you understand their limitations. Yes, it's expensive, but it's the best of its kind, at least in this period (of up to Microvision Pico Laser, wow), and he does not feel like a product of the first generation.
